In October 2007, the Aldo Leopold Legacy Center received LEED® Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The Legacy Center had accumulated 61 out of a possible 69 LEED points—the first project ever to reach so high a total. The Center also became the first building ever to receive carbon neutral certification, recognizing that energy generated by the Center’s clean, renewable energy systems matches or exceeds annual energy demands.
Prominent Features
Durable DORMA Architectural Hardware products installed throughout the Center ensure that doorways operate in keeping with the Center’s energy-conservation goals, while ensuring safety, reliability, and security. Aesthetically the DORMA closers, stops and holders, and cylindrical locksets complement the naturalist, earthy décor. Installed DORMA products are 8900 Series Heavy-Duty Door Closers, 900 Series Stops and Holders, and CL700 Cylindrical Locksets.
