The Iron Horse Hotel

The developer of the Iron Horse Hotel renovated and preserved a neglected 100-year old brick warehouse with a close-up view of the spectacular new Harley Davidson Museum. He wanted to create an upscale hotel that mingled “business suits and biker leathers.” Transforming the 90,000 sq ft warehouse into a luxury boutique hotel with 100 guest rooms was an exercise in fusing “industrial era form and modern-day function. The hotel’s interior captures the American Industrial era with beam construction, exposed brick, and iron details preserved from the original structure.” The renovated warehouse/hotel retains existing timber supports, leaves brick walls exposed, and utilizes other interior components as sculptural elements. Everything modern has been fitted into the venerable old space.
