The West Bend Mutual Insurance company recently completed a $57 million, 210,000 sq ft expansion of its headquarters in West Bend, Wisconsin.
The original structure built 10 years previously had already been recognized for green innovations. Both enclosed offices and open area work spaces have separate climate controls, considerably reducing energy usage overall. Outside, the 160-acre site’s restored prairie landscape affords access to vistas and nature trails for employees, community, and wildlife alike. Contractors were specifically directed to tread lightly on this natural asset.
